Session Abstract:

All environmental contaminants occur as complex mixtures and no two mixtures are identical.  In order to evaluate the environmental safety of such mixtures, advanced analytical and biological assay procedures are required.  An iterative approach of mass spectrometric and in vitro bioassays techniques are currently being deployed for monitoring of water and air quality.  This presentation will show recent successes whereby novel endocrine disruptor chemicals have been identified in water, as well as an example of dust composition and unique structural elucidation.
