RETRACE project is pleased to invite you to «Circular Regions on the way», its first Interregional Dissemination Event aimed at generating a debate on how regions are transitioning into Circular Economy and how this will influence policymakers on the future Cohesion Policy beyond 2020.

The event, moderated by former BBC journalist Aminda Leigh, is built around two core sessions:

  1. Keynote Session «Circular Economy shaping EU Regions» where Janez Potočnik (Co-Chair of the UN Resource Panel (UNEP)) and Paola Migliorini (Team Leader Circular Economy at the Directorate General Environment)  will be sharing floor giving an overview of the Circular Economy policy framework focussing on the key role of Regional Policymakers and how projects like RETRACE are key tools to achieve the Circular Economy Package goals
  2. Policy Panel Session «Policy Road Maps towards a Circular Europe» where the results of RETRACE project’s first phase (2016-2018) will be presented: five Regional Action Plans (one for each partner country) that will foster regions into adopting integrated policies for a transition to a Circular Economy, influencing policy makers on regards of the Cohesion Policy beyond 2020.

The panel include members of the DG REGIO, DG GROWTH and Managing Autorities of Partner Regions, who will approach how the milestones of these policy indications can serve at the various levels represented around the discussion table.
