The future of waste management is one of the world’s biggest challenges at the moment. New EU waste regulations aim to increase recycling targets and tackle wasted resources. Member states will now be required to recycle at least 65% of their household waste, will face a 10% cap on landfill and mandatory separate collection of organic materials by 2035, plus introduce stricter schemes to make producers pay for the collection of key recyclables.
