Global environmental services provider Tradebe has completed its acquisition of Labwaste, which specialises in collecting and disposing of hazardous waste, it was announced yesterday (4 Jan).
Based in Hinckley in Leicestershire, Labwaste had been providing its clinical and hazardous waste removal service for clients across the UK since 2006. The acquisition by Tradebe, which operates 19 other waste disposal facilities in the UK, is the latest addition to a global portfolio of services in the US, Europe and the Middle East.
“This latest acquisition expands Tradebe’s treatment, transfer and disposal network, directly supporting our UK’s strategic growth plans in this attractive segment,” said Tradebe UK CEO Rob Molenaar, following the announcement. “This market penetration acquisition, along with the shared safety culture and customer service excellence, will see a smooth and seamless integration of Labwaste into our Tradebe family.”

Tradebe, headquartered in Sandycroft North Wales, runs three high-temperature facilities for the incineration of hazardous and clinical waste in the UK, accepting waste from GPs surgeries and local hospitals. The incinerator at Fawley, Hampshire, is the largest facility for the final disposal of hazardous and clinical waste.
It has completed the acquisition of a number of other companies since 2010, including Doncaster-based Britcare Ltd in 2011, and Ecowaste in 2013, which provided collection services for clinical waste for the South-West.
